St Leonhard im Pitztal is an great experience for mountaineers, nature and winter sports lovers. The Pitztaler Glacier and ski and hiking area Rifflsee provides some surprises to visitors. The Pitz-Panoramabahn brings you up to a height of 3440 meters, where you'll have a fantastic view that nowhere in the Alps has been beaten. This area is well known by mountaineers, because of the highest mountain of Tirol (the Wildspitze) and the excellent climbing opportunities.

Mountain Sports
St Leonhard im Pitztal is a real mountaineering Location. Anyone who has ever been here, in summer or winter, comes back again to enjoy the many mountain sports the region offers. Numerous hikingtours, mountain biking routes and climbing paths are already waiting.

Water Sports
Traditional water sports around the the village can not be found. Yet there are plenty of opportunities in the area for rafting, swimming, and other forms of water sports such as the Pitztaler Wasserwelten in Stillebach.

Recommendation
In this area there can only be one recommendation, which is a visit to the Pitztaler Glacier. Beautiful, and an original, Alpine Nature.
