The village offers good hiking trails, to stroll through meadows and mountain hiking.

Mountain Sports
A very nice and pleasant area for hikers, with many hiking trails.

However, Kartitsch is well known to climbers. Numerous climbing routes and other opportunities, can be found here.

For example, the Klettersteig Filmoorhöhe-Wildkarleck-Porze 2,589 meters, and the Klettersteig Große Kinigat 2,689 meters.

Water Sports
Watersports is not offered the village, although there are opportunities in other villages in the Hochpustertal region.

The Obstanser Ice Cave.
A special mountain experience is the Obstanser Ice Cave.

The climb up is about the Prinz-Heinrich-Gedächtnisweg, along the Obstanser waterfall, the Prinz-Heinrich chapel and on to the Obstanser-Seehütte at an altitude of 2304 meters.
