Cortina d'Ampezzo

In the foothills of the Dolomites.
The winter sports region Veneto is located in the foothills of the Dolomites, and has some very appealing ski resorts.

The best known is undoubtedly Cortina d'Ampezzo, where the Winter Olympics were held in 1956.

It is a ski area to see and to be seen, with very good facilities and slopes, but certainly not the cheapest destination in the winter months. Although there are two winter campsites at the ski resort.

Other excellent ski areas in the Veneto region are Arabba, Passo San Pellegrino and Alpe del Nevegal.
