Gosau is located between King Dachstein with its glaciers.

The region is perhaps better known as a winter destination, the largest ski area in Upper Austria, in the summer, this holiday destination, a lot to offer.

The region around Dachstein Unesco World Heritage Site, is famous for the many possible mountain sports, and especially to great facilities.

Around the village there are also many walking trails and horseback riding.

Water Sports
Lake Gosau is a small mountain lake, located in the middle of beautiful countryside, with views of the Dachstein.

The lake is protected area, and has very clear, and fresh water.

A habitat for many fish species.

The village also has an indoor swimming pool.

Attractions include the Adventure Park Urzeitwald, Geomuseum Jagerbauernstadl, Glücksplatz Löckernmoos, Wildfrauenloch, and open-air museum Paarhof Gosau-Hintertal.
