Heiligenblut is also known for the Grossglockner Berglauf, which was held for the first time in 2000, as part of the 200th anniversary of the first ascent of the mountain.

The cable car takes you to an altitude of 2,600 meters. Here you have a wonderful view of the highest mountain in Austria and many other mountains higher than 3,000 meters.
