The pleasant village of Lofer is the family-friendly center of the Salzburger Saalachtal. The small village is the center of the region and by its central location an ideal starting point for excursions and various hikes.
Mountain Sports
Backpack on, hiking shoes on and towards the Litzlalm, the Vorderkaserklamm or to Mary Kirchental. Or go easy up with the lift to the Loferer Alm. A real hiking area is the largest meadow area in the Salzburger Land, with 25 options for circular hikes. The region offers everything in terms of hiking, from easy walks, valley hiking, circular hikes to challenging routes to the mountain tops. In total 300 km of marked hiking trails and 50 km walks on flat terrain.
Water Sports
The Alpenbad Unken is located between woods and rocks with a magnificent view of the surrounding mountains. The water has a temperature of 29° in the indoor pool and 24° in the outdoor pool with a giant water slide, whirlpool and steam bath, sauna, solarium, gym, massage, playground and more. On the rough waters in the region, it is possible to go rafting and kayaking.
Recommendation
In a radius of only 2 km the Salzburger Saalachtal has a extraordinary natural heritage, the Vorderkaserklamm, the Laprechtshöhle in St. Martin and the Seisenbergklamm in Weißbach.
