Oberdrauburg lies at the foot of the Hochstadel, immediately after the Tiroler Tor. The village lies on an ancient Roman road, and was already in former times a market town. The village is characterized by the many fascinating historical buildings and churches, and is seen as the jewel of the Oberes Drautal.
Mountain Sports
The Outdoor Park. Absolutely True. A true paradise when it comes to outdoor sports and mountain sports. Numerous hiking routes, mountain biking trails, opportunities for rafting and aerial sports. Climbing is possible in Hochseilklettergarten Greifenburg and Climbingpath Pirkacher Klamm.
Water Sports
Rafting is possible in Irschen at Drauactiv and "walking on the river" is possible in Dellach. From May to September, the Drau offers ideal water for canoe and inflatable boats. Driven by the gentle flow it seems just as you walk on the river. Also swimming is offered in the region in a number of swimming pools and swimming lake Greifenburg.
Recommendation
The Trögerwandhöhlen (caves) lie west of the village and are renowned for their size and amazing colors on the cave walls.
