Sankt Jakob im Rosental is located in a particularly beautiful landscape between the mountains of the Karavanke and the reservoir in the Drau. A special location near the Great Lakes the Wörther See and the Faaker See. The region is also known for the many roses, and the wide range of recreational activities, such as in Erlebniswald Drachenstein.

Mountain Sports
A quiet area to enjoy the outside and to enjoy active sports like hiking, mountain biking and cycling. Well-marked hiking and cycling routes for all abilities. Challenging climbing tours are possible, and extensive opportunities for horseback riding, tennis and Nordic Waking. Canyoning is possible in the Tscheppaschlucht.

Water Sports
Extensive opportunities for fishing, for example in the Feistritzer reservoir, the Ferlach reservoir, Hollenburg fishing area and the Drau. Swimming is offered in Badesee Ratz, Badesee Ressnig and Badesee St. John. All the lakes have an excellent water quality, a spacious sunbathing area and various other facilities.

Recommendation
The Pilgrimage Church of Maria Elend is a Gothic structure and is a pillar basilica with three naves. The tower is in the lower part Roman and has to the west an opening in the nave. The church is open daily in summer, in winter by appointment only.
