The nice holiday village Berndorf lies between the soft hills of the Salzburger Seenland, not far from the Grabensee.
The village takes its name according to stories by the free peasant "Pero as strong as a bear".
A village that still continues the old tradition, and is a extremely friendly host.
Since 1700 Berndorf is a pilgrimage village, much visited, and where in ancient times visitors sought shelter at the Berndorfer Strahlenmadonna.
The composer of the famous Christmas carol Silent Night, Holy Night, was living in the village, and worked as a teacher and organist.

The Linde am Thurn is located above the Kalchgrubergut, at an altitude of 687 meters.
