In the middle of a landscape from a picturebook, in a broad valley surrounded by breathtaking mountains, forests and clear mountain lakes, lies the beautiful holiday village Greifenburg. The environment of the Oberer Drautal invites you to spend an active holiday. The village is also seen as a eldorade for paragliding and dragon flies.

Mountain Sports
A perfect village for many mountain sports. A perfect environment and Thermals for paragliding and dragon flying. Near the village excellent conditions are offered. Climbing is possible in Hochseilklettergarten. Several hikes and trails for mountain biking are possible in the immediate vicinity.

Water Sports
Rafting is possible in Irschen at Drauactiv and "walking on the river" is possible in Dellach. From May to September, the Drau offers ideal water for canoe and inflatable boats. Driven by the gentle flow it seems just as you walk on the river. Also swimming is offered in the region in a number of swimming pools and the swimming lake near the village.

Recommendation
North of the village lies the castle Greifenburg. For the first time listed in 1166 as owned by the Duke of Carinthia. Meinhard von Tyrol died here in 1295. Also recommended is the Bergbauernmuseum Gnoppnitz. Go back to the time that the mountain farmers still cared for themselves.
