Vacation in Innsbruck

Innsbruck is the city of cities.
The city of cities. 800 year history, art and culture.

And all in the modern yet charming remained capital of Tyrol.

A city that really gives the feeling of a large winter village, for a number of beautiful skiing areas are around the city.

In the summer it is lovely here to stay here, and many tourists stroll in the summer through the city, the old town or along the Inn.

Culture is very important in Tyrol, and that you may find on the various museums in the city such as the Fernandeum, but also to the magnificent theater, which is just behind the Hofburg.

In the old center, numerous events are organized, from concerts to sporting fun. At the Hofburg are incidentally also regular concerts organized.

You wanna rest from all that Innsbruck has to offer, venture over to the park at the Hofburg, just behind the historic center.

The park is beautifully landscaped, with a playground, ponds, and two large chessboards with chess pieces.

Mountain Sports
Within the city limits are not real mountaineering possible.

Of course there are several walks, often from the station to attractions. Also the Alpenzoo can be reached on foot from the station, but it's a hefty walk.

There are enormous opportunities for various mountain sports offered immediately outside Innsbruck.

Water Sports
Within the city limits, there are many opportunities to enjoy water sports such as in Erlebnis-Oase Olympisches Dorf, Hallenbad Amraser-Straße and Hallenbad Höttinger Au.

Also around the town there are several small lakes and pools, while of course the Inn is very suitable for sports such as rafting and fishing.

Recommendation
In and around the city there are a very large number of sites that you really should see.

Outside the famous attractions such as Das Goldene Dachl, the Alpenzoo and Schloss Ambras, there are enough attractions and museumsfor a number of weeks vacation to spend here.

It is therefore important, when visiting the city, you bing a lot of time with you. Another tip: Whenever possible, use public transport!

If you want to go shopping in the city, remember that in the center there are just few real shops, like Kaufhaus Tyrol. The center is more of a tourist spot, to enjoy.

There are shopping malls, in various parts of the city, often very large, as Kaufhaus Tyrol. The most popular are Sillpark, which is just behind the station, and DEZ, on the south side of the town.
