On the northern bank of the Wolgangsee, and in the wind shadow of the Schafberg, lies the romantic and very popular holiday village Sankt Wolfgang. The village is more than 1000 years the goal of many pilgrims, and in recent years an enormous popular holiday destination for many visitors.

Mountain Sports
The combination of mountains and lake, and the enormous popularity of village and lake for a summer holiday, provides wide range of hiking routes, many trails for Nordic walking, challenging mountain bike routes and other mountain sports such as rafting, horseback riding and paragliding. Ballooning is also possible near the town.

Water Sports
The Wolfgangsee is one of the most famous lakes in Austria. And that shows immediately in the range of water sports. Really all water sports are offered from sailing to water skiing, diving to fishing. Around the lake there are no less than 15 outdoor swimming pools and beaches, of which 6 directly to the village. Boats can be rented in the village.

Recommendation
The Wolfgangsee is one of the most impressive lakes in Austria. This lovely area is best explored on the water with the Wolfgangsee Schifffahrt.

For some culture you can visit the Seepromenade, something you probably will do in your holidays. Visit the bronze statues of "the platonic lovers" and "Two Cranes".
