Mountain Sports
The region Zillertal Arena offers ample opportunities for mountain biking and hiking. Because of the location there are also opportunities in the Salzburgerland. The Alpine-Climbing Wall Gerlossteinwand offers challenging opportunities for climbing, the equipment can be rented in the Zillertal Arena.
Water Sports
The Durlaßbodenstausee (reservoir) offers opportunities for swimming and other water sports such as sailing and surfing. Also a surf and sailing school is present, a boat rental, a romantic meadow, playground and a grill. It is possible to fish in the Durlaßbodenstausee and Gmünder Stausee (both reservoirs). Day tickets are available at Hotel Platzer and the Seestüberl. Note the local fishing rules!
Recommendation
The Arena Coaster is the new sliding fun in the Zillertal, with not just a run (for children), but also an adventure playground. The first Alpine rollercoaster in Zell am Ziller, and it is certainly worth, especially with children, to ride the run.
