Zell am Ziller is located in the heart of the Zillertal. The village lies at the beginning of the large ski area Zillertal Arena, and is best known for winter sports. The quiet but active region offers perfect conditions for a summer holiday. Especially tourists that seek a combination of rest, relaxation and active sports, will spend a pleasant time here.

Mountain Sports
The region Zillertal Arena offers ample opportunities for mountain biking and hiking. Because of the location there are also opportunities in the Salzburgerland. The Alpine-Climbing Wall Gerlossteinwand offers challenging opportunities for climbing, the equipment can be rented in the Zillertal Arena.

Water Sports
Erlebnisbad Freizeitpark Zell is a nice swimmingpool with sports pool, children pool and giant slide. The large meadow is very sunny, so it is a pleasant stay here on sunny days. It is possible to fish in the Durlaßbodenstausee and Gmünder Stausee (both reservoirs). Day tickets are available at Hotel Platzer and the Seestüberl. Note the local fishing rules!

Recommendation
The Arena Coaster is the new sliding fun in the Zillertal, with not just a run (for children), but also an adventure playground. The first Alpine rollercoaster in Zell am Ziller, and it is certainly worth, especially with children, to ride the run.
