Millstatt am See offers history, culture and enjoying the lake. The village is the historic center of the region. Duke Domitian Was the founder in the 8th century. Converted to the Christian faith, according to stories he let 1000 pagan statues be thrown into the lake.

Mountain Sports
A beautiful region to enjoy various mountain sports. A new walking experience you gain on the 200 km long Lake Millstätter See Höhenstieg, the mountains around the lake combined together. Eight stages at an altitude of 600 to 2600 meters with a beautiful view.

Water Sports

Thanks to the art project "Mille Statue" the inhabitants get back 1,000 statues. Artists from the Alps and Adria in the summer months make statues that visitors can admire along the statueroad. Also recommended are the old Habsburg villas.
