The village lies in the middle of the Zillertal, and is an ideal base for excursions such as mountain bike tours and beautiful mountain hikes.

Mountain Sports
The potential for mountain sports in the Zillertal are unprecedented. Sports like paragliding, canyoning, rafting and kayaking are offered throughout the valley. As for the hiking and mountain biking opportunities, which are virtually unlimited.

Water Sports
Although the valley has no large lake (although some very beautiful mountain lakes), there is a wide and comprehensive range of water sports. Rafting is offered in various places, but you can also drive a (inflatable) boat on the wild Ziller. Also, some places offer Hydro Speed.

Recommendation
Zillertalbahn and steam engine. The whole year you can ride a steam locomotive from Jenbach to Mayrhofen (or vice versa). With the nostalgia-ticket you can make use of the Zillertal Bahn, the Achenseebahn and ships on the Achensee.
