Tannheim is the center of the Tannheimer valley, and is located between the mountains. The Natura 2000 nature resort, which you must see during your summer vacation, is offering both a natural beauty and a lot of active recreational oppertunities.

Mountain Sports
Wondrous walking. That is what you can say about this region. Allready three times the valley was named the most popular hiking destination in Austria. Mountain bikers can enjoy the expanded capabilities in this valley, while the region is also famous for its paragliding and dragon flies opportunities.

Water Sports
The Vilsalpsee is one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in Tyrol, and is surrounded by a nature resort. In Haldensee there are opportunities for canoeing, surfing and swimming. Swimming in the water of Moorweiher "Flöschen" is good for body and health. The region also offers extensive and good opportunities to fish in For Example the Weissenbach, the Nesselwängler Ache, Gräner Bach and the Haldensee.

Recommendation
In the nature resort Vilsalpsee you are surrounded by a beautiful mountain scenery and can experience a rare flora and fauna up close. The nature reserve is located on the southern edge of the valley, covering an area of approximately 16 square kilometers with the Vilsalpsee, the Traualpsee and the Lachensee and surrounding area and the surrounding mountains.
