The region around Lake Geneva has many outdoor sports to offer, along with ample opportunities for hiking, cycling and mountain biking.

The range of adrenaline sports is particularly large, with some special features. As Vaud is one of the few regions where you can make use of the Devalkart scooter, for example, in Château d'Oex, Les Diablerets and Leysin. A particularly impressive sports!

The region also has a wide range of climbing facilities, with various appealing climbing routes.

Special are the ample opportunities for paragliding, and the three adventure parks in Aigle, Château d'Oex and Signal Bougy.

Lakes and other water sports

Vaud has a large number of indoor and outdoor swimming pools available, often heated, and in a even more beautiful setting. In addition, the facilities of the several pools are very good.

Other water sports are almost everywhere possible. As the region offers on and around the lake of Geneva, for sailing or surfing, but there are also ample opportunities to dive in the various lakes.

Other water sports include canyoning and rafting, pedalo, rowing clubs, rental of motorboats, and water-ski or wakeboard.

With the city of Geneva in its midst, Vaud has a great attraction. The city has a notorious history, which you can still see today. It is perhaps one of the most intact cities in Europe.

Also the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the vineyards of Lavaux, is a point of interest that you simply must see. Just as the Chillon castle, the Diablerets glacier, and the Olympic Museum in Lausanne. Lausanne is the home of the International Olympic Committee.

The region has many wildlife parks and zoos, which are all of very high level. Very nice are the Juraparc, la Garenne Zoo, the Vivarium in Lausanne, Sauvabelin Park in Lausanne, and the cute Marmots' Paradise, where you can see this animal at close.
